A royal dignitary was greeting residents at a nursing home, when he was surprised by the unresponsiveness of one woman who just sat there and stared at him. Finally, the dignitary asked, “Do you know who I am?”—to which the woman responded: “No. But that nurse over there helps us with those kinds of things.”
Many people are confused about who Jesus is. But through His Word, God helps us know and enjoy the real Jesus. You will find Him wonderfully compelling. Tough fishermen, tax collectors, and zealots gave up everything to follow Him (Mark 1:18). Women felt safe with Him. Crowds stood in awe of His power and authority.
Jesus is not content to be just our “fire insurance,” saving us from eternal punishment in hell. Rather, He wants us to know Him for who He really is, and He desires to connect with us on a deeper, more personal level.
If you are weary of a religion that is about rules and regulations, then welcome to life beyond the rituals. Welcome to a relationship in which you can find companionship, comfort, wisdom, and reality. Welcome to the wonderful privilege of getting to know Jesus and the joy of following Him.
Get to know Him—and you’ll grow to love Him more and more each day.
Which of all our friends, to save us,
Could or would have shed their blood?
But our Jesus died to have us
Reconciled in Him to God. —Newton

so.. since its 2 in the morning, and i was feeling a lil restless, i decided to go on our blog to see if anyone posted comments and what not. Then i realize i am supposed to post today. So yea...
Neway, my thoughts:
its kinda stupid how the first thing that i saw was the line "Women felt safe with Him." and the fact that i pulled a correlation between Godly man and getting the ladies. But then if you think about it, it is true. My pastor is a really short filpino guy who has a muchtallerthanhim, chinese wife who is devoted to Christ. My pastor was sharing with us before how he had lots of girls liking him because he was a Godly man, and that he was genuinely serving Christ and following Him.
So it is true, living a Godly life, and being a Godly man gets the ladies! ... the Godly ladies (which is even better =D)
But one caution that struck out right after thinking this was the fact that the purpose of leading a Godly life, is NOT for the ladies, but the True and Pure intention to have a tight relationship with God and God alone. I cannot stress this anymore the fact that leading a Godly life requires absolute devotion to Him and to put Him first and everything else secondary.
As the devo said, in the relationship with Jesus, we find our companionship, comfort, wisdom, and reality. And its just an awesome reminder that God always wants what's best for us, and wont settle for less.
I feel like i can write a 1 page essay on this lol but i will stop here =)

i agree with what jon said about the caution. putting God first is something we should do and that's something i'm struggling with. in addition, guys.. please pray for my patience as i almost had a little too much road rage with slow drivers today and resulted in a close call. (and that goes for things like attitude towards family and gf (carol)).

the first thing that went into my mind was not that particular line
but the anecdote.
how many people do we think know of Jesus, and refuse to acknowledge him... are actually just oblivious or have not heard about Jesus?
Do we share with only "potential canditates" or do are we there to try to share with everyone the spirit leads us to?
just some food for thought
