read Matthew 11:7-19
If you’ve ever been asked to say a few words at a memorial service, you know how difficult, yet important, it can be. Cyrus M. Copeland, compiler of two books of tributes to famous people, said: “A great eulogy is both art and architecture—a bridge between the living and the dead, memory and eternity.”
The Bible contains little that corresponds to our modern eulogy. Yet Jesus paid a great tribute to John the Baptist when he faced the looming threat of execution by Herod. From prison, John sent his disciples to confirm the identity of Jesus the Messiah (Matt. 11:2-6). Jesus talked with them, then told the listening crowd, “Among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he” (v.11).
Jesus’ tribute captured the essence of the desert-dwelling, straight-preaching John, who was maligned and misunderstood as he prepared the way for the Son of God. John’s greatness was more than personal; it was wrapped up in the kingdom of God. He wrote his own eulogy by his actions.
As we ponder what we might say about others at their passing, it’s also good to ask, “What will people say about me when it’s time to say goodbye?”
The way we live our lives each day
Makes up our eulogy;
So ask yourself, “When I pass on,
What will be said of me?” —Sper
Living for the Lord today leaves a lasting legacy when we’re gone.

oh, i think this also pretty much sums up the idea of "what are you doing with your life" kinda thing.
so.. as you read this i hope you guys can proactively make a difference in someone's life / in the world tomorrow. brap brap
- Jono again
As my friend put it...
"Behave as you'd like people to perceive you, for what you do today, will be your history, and ur history will become ur legacy"
This can go for how we should live our Christian lives as well.
Jon (6,0) "still the same day? LOL"
I did this jan 28 before posting it on ryersonccf webpage. But it's definitely important. To review and to think proactively what will people say about MY life when I say 'good-bye'. But more than anything, what will God say about my life when my time on earth is over.
And I don't necessarily like jon's friend's quote as "Behave as you'd like people to perceive you.." I would say, don't behave, BE who you want people to perceive you as, but once again.. more importantly, BE who God wants you to be. For I don't really care if people think I'm great or bad as there's a very clear and fine line between, being and acting a certain way. Never behave in a certain way cause someone's watching, but be who and what you are when no one's watching. Be who and what you're meant to be. For us, our place is right here with God.

well i didnt think too deep into it lol... but i'd say you're right.. to BE who God wants you to be
and not to just behave as you want people to see you as....
for it is written in Matthew 23:26 "...First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean."
Praying for you brian~
