Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade."
With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.
What does it say?- Kingdom is like a mustard seed
- Planted in the ground
- it take the nutrient, and all the other things it needs to grow
- in grows into the largest of all garden plants
- Which birds can come and find shade
Like a mustard seed, we all start of as a small seed, and slowly with the power of God, we too grow into large plants which can provide shade to birds. An example of this in real life, would be the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ. Peter, was a man with little educational background, when he stood firmly to speak the word of the Lord, he spoke boldly, and brought what we know as Christianity to where we all know today. Paul, a prisoner, with his highly influential works, changed many, including the people today.
Here is the last part...What does it mean to me?...I will leave this to you in the commentary.
-Note: this Devo wasn't taken from anywhere, just from the format that was taught to me. Sorry for any grammar problems

When doing me Devo on this, this morning, recorded for the what does it mean to me, that God has placed me as a mustard seen in the soil and right now i need to slowly grow, before i can become the shade provider, as well it isn't me who grew by myself but through God that we grow.

To me it means we are all growing still, and we have so much farther to go.
Like we were saying in MG this past thursday, there's only so much faith you can have before you need to dig into what you believe in, to get the full essence of God.
Either way, it's a life-long pursuit, which makes it that much sweeter. We get to learn and be constantly fascinated -all- our lives about our God.

hmm, so what does it mean to me? It gives me hope. That even small almost insufficient beings like us, can grow and become something great. Something soo great, that birds (people) will rely on. It continues to instill the fact, that only through God is all this possible. That without Him, we can't and won't grow to our full potential.

What it means to me:
work hard... you will be rewarded
work harder for God.... your blessings will be multiplied 888 fold
(instead of the 777 that is the "perfect" number for jewish people, i use 888 for our chinese culture =P)
Got some questions about the whole RBK thing.. more like.. "criterias" since i think i kinda missed all the details XP
-Jon rbk(2) or (0) depending on the "criterias"
i think sometimes my growth needs to be pruned by the Gardener, when i start growing in directions i'm not supposed to grow
